Position Title: Roofing Estimator/Sales

A roofing estimator/sales is responsible for bidding, selling and remaining involved in the roofing projects.

·        Prepare accurate, timely estimates for potential jobs

·        Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the customer

·        Manage projects for customer satisfaction, profitability

Specific Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

o   Review and understand scope of work and project specifications

o   Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists

o   Seek to constantly gain knowledge and improve ability to estimate all company products and systems

·        Develop labor estimates for all jobs

o   Use established labor and material markups for overhead and profit

o   Provide job packets to foreman/operations manager to assist with job preparation

o   Identify and pursue potential business

o   Be responsive to the needs of existing and potential customers

·        Track, manage and communicate all projects

o   Maintain accurate, complete and organized files

o   Maintain job communication for change-orders between HO and office for billing.

o   Follow up on outstanding estimates as required.

o   Perform final walk-through with owner

o   Be responsible for communicating and coordinating with operations manager

Technology – Ability to use phones, tablets and other technology tools;

Roof system knowledge – Knowledge of various roof systems, materials, construction processes

Project management – communicate changes with homeowner as well as the office and monitor progress

Safety and security – Ability to identify, correct and report unsafe conditions according to company and OSHA standards

Quality – Knowledge to inspect and ensure attention to detail and quality

Productivity – Demonstrate the ability to meet and exceed productivity standards; works quickly and accurately


Relational Interaction – Estimators must be able to develop and maintain relationships outside the company

Customer service – Seek to help customers even in difficult situations; seek to maintain customer relationships

Problem solving – Understand complex problems and make decisions to benefit everyone as much as possible
